No signs that Apple will be releasing some shiny intel iBook tomorrow. At least that i can find. :( Also, the horse i bet on yesterday decided not to run. I think it wasn’t feeling well - maybe it had that vomiting bug that’s going round. At least, i got my free bet back as cold-hard-(internet)-cash, so all is not lost.
Bubblesnaps
This is fun. Though i took forever picking a picture. I think you need to perhaps pick a picture then a caption else you stare blankly at the your My Pictures folders for too long - i found.
Link me up with yours, bo.
via the Howies website.
iTunes recommendations…
I need some recommendations for the 3 free songs i can get off itunes. It just seems a little pointless :/
T-shirts.
I love t-shirts that say buy me - not like that but ‘cos they are very cool. This one > fits that very comfortably. http://seibei.com/shop/intramural.html You can even specify how much and how you want the gore. I like the handprint though. It needs to be quite simple. Anyway, i’ve e-mailed them about getting shipping to the UK. AWESOME.
Edit: i’ve emailed him back about some pictures of lots of gore. Seems everyone and their dog has gone to the site after it was featured on Preshrunk . Also, Rich new t-shirt blog (maybe, unless you’ve already seen it?)
Howies have a buy two get one free offer on at the moment
Also rediscovered/remembered High Noon ep by dj Shadow. I can actually remember driving along Cheltenham rd when i heard for the very first time. Shame it’s not on itunes though.
Edit 2: Buying direct from smaller websites is brilliant :
I will try and get a picture for you of the “lots of gore” option and will probably have one by Sunday - I’ll be printing up a batch this weekend, and a good number of people have asked for “lots”, so I’ll have them laying around. Barring that, I’ll harrass some friends of mine who have the “lots of gore” option for a pic.
Two replies in two days :)
Man in a box.
There was a man with a cardbox over his head at the cinema tonight, he had a hole cut out so he could see through. He was with two other people and a dog (whose name i can’t remember). They all throughly creeped me out. What was he doing there? Waiting? Was he trying to sneek into the cinema? Was it a robbery? Were they on drugs? Was it some elaborate prank??? Questions.
So, Syriana, firstly i think i’m going to stop reading reviews - that is to try and limit myself to being aware of them. The whole idea, of not knowing what you are about to see had suddenly become completely appealing. There was an article i didn’t read about a reviewer who saw Brokeback Mountain before it went big and he was arguing that he saw a completely different film. I’m not in his position unfortunately - but i like it. I mean - what people say influences us, we can’t be completely impartial about a film can we?
It’s only a film i suppose.
Anyway, i really liked Syriana, pretty powerful, pretty fragmented though. I constantly had to sit there and think things through - going over a scene again in head. It made me feel something i suppose and i need that from a film. I mean, V was good but i found it, somewhat - what do i mean - do i mean idealistic or just the ending had me thinking of the Mosh video by Eminem. So, i suppose in both films, in Syriana the hopelessness was more real. Anyway, i should really be sleeping. Maybe i’ll get around to penning something on that - Jon already has.
To a degree i think the smaller artists (in whatever genre) have less to fear from the internet and more to gain. Their fan bases are smaller but no less entusiastic. They garner a whole truckload more respect from their fans, who are more likely to buy their albums. Anyway, i don’t really want to get into all that. The point i was trying to make is, it’s so much harder to download their stuff (!) and if i were to i would do so with a whole load more guilt.
The track that inspired this is > D1 - Golden Bullet awesome instrumental i heard on the way home while listening to the Residency .It’s this incessant violin over a beat is all, a bit of strings and it’s pretty damn good. The residency was hosted by Plastician (:/), it’s all grime and similar (no idea myself).
Racism in football
FIFA.com The Official web site of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association
the Executive Committee approved an amendment to article 55 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code at the proposal of the FIFA President, allowing for very strict sanctions to be imposed after acts of racism or discrimination in football. The measures range from match suspensions and deduction of points (3 points for a first offence, 6 for a second and relegation in case of further offences) to disqualification of a team from a competition, depending on the case. Confederations and member associations will be compelled to incorporate these provisions in their regulations, and any association that infringes the article can be excluded from international football for two years.
Good i say. Especially in light of this >
What’s 9000 Euros to them? Apparently that’s a lot, normally the fine is less then a thousand, they probably take it from petty cash.
and
Luis Aragones does not think there is a racism problem in Spanish football.
The Spain coach’s comments come after Barcelona and Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o tried to leave the field when Zaragoza fans made monkey noises at him.
“Eto’o may have confused things. Insults take a different form here, so I don’t think there’s racism,” Aragones told the Efe news agency.
What, seriously?! Absolutely disgusting. Hopefully, the threat of more serious sanctions will change it. At least Sepp agrees.
Money money money.
See, i like gambling when i’m winning. That’s why i don’t gamble a whole lot, on the whole. I don’t like losing. Thus winning £160 * is always good. Only 4/1 though. Ah well. I was on the bus when i got told and i was saying awesome a lot. Awesome. Awesome.
*Well actually £80 it’s not all mine.
Also, i feel like bluetooth dongles are ruining the world, they are to blame for global warming, the water droughts in the south, there being no Macbook yet and they also fund terrorism. If they were banned today i think the world would instantly become a much better place. Hate them, hate them, hate them *.
* i will accept they have some place in the car - but a car will protect you from lightening - but you don’t need to walk round town with them on. Just don’t do it, please?
