6Music on Last.fm

without comments

This is very cool. Apparently since the beeb starting playing things from hard disk, someone started sending 6musics now playing lists to Last.fm (insert techno speak on how to do that). Apparently the obscure 7″ won’t show but still the idea that for the most part it’s all there is just cool. Big up to Interpol for being joint top artist and having the top track.  (via)

Though, i fear if Radio 1 did it, the world would probably end. All the good stuff would be completely drowned out i think.

I have also decided that i like girls in spotty clothing. I’m not sure why.

note to self: put up some of the interesting stuff on love in New Scientist.

Do you know

What’s better then buying something you like in the sales? Buying something you like without realising it’s in the sales (or the shop assistant knowing either). Bonza :)

edit: i bought this bag

Things to look forward to..

FTW (That’s becoming more of a habit - picked up from WoW)
It’s true. This week i have 3 split days off, Saturday, Monday (thankfully) and Wednesday (i think) (i’m pretty sure, i get given my rota and i agree and then i forget it. So, i think i am in at 3 tomorrow. 75% maybe).

But anyway, saying i am going to do this on this day, however big or small is definitely the way forward.

So on Saturday i am going to bother Chris and Jenn and i’ll remember to forget her book (which reminds me, i’ve preordered the A Softer World book. I was going to and then i forget and then i rechecked his blog and decided too, i would quite like a numbered copy.) So that’s Saturday and then Monday i am going to go and see Jose Gonzalez (which went something like;

  1. read forum post
  2. check website - notice Oxford on Monday
  3. speak to Tasha nicely (Oxford resident)
  4. try and round people up - losers from losersville - fail at round up :(
  5. get spare ticket anyway
  6. spend afternoon texting people from work, persuade (well didn’t need to try that hard) Rich to come
  7. awesome (after i forget whether i was working on Monday (i’m not, phew) am working at 7am Tuesday (blurdy blurdy blah blah)

So, Rich and Tasha and i. I really can’t wait. Should be good.

Also, Prison Break and 24 are good to the max at the moment. They really are. Though Channel 5 have pretty much caught up (thanks for the 3 month wait ABC!). This weeks episode was good, though i refuse to believe he’s that stupid (reference to episode 19). IT’s almost too blatant, which makes me think it’s a double bluff (but seeing as none of you watch it, it doesn’t matter). Wasn’t sure about 24 but it has gone some way to regaining my interest (the twists and turns have really kept the momentum and haven’t thankfully involved a terrorist with the ability to evade capture as and when needed).

Though, they are both on episode 19 and Lost (not feeling it at all unfortunately, it’s not immediate enough for me, the flashbacks can do one to be fair, i don’t careeeeee (will obviously keep watching) is upto 19 as well. So that means they will all end at approximately the same time…. noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I’m going to have to go outside.

Wakey wakey.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I can’t decide if i fall into either category - if i had to place myself. Though i think that were i forced to choose, i’d definitely go with the early mornings.

See, i wasn’t going to post this. If you want something well thought out, best not to speak to me. I just wondered is all, because i was in bed at 10 last night and quite happily got up at 6 this morning before bmx-ing to the garage (i so shouldn’t have worn so many layers) to get a paper. It was lovely. Especially as i got to use the new path up to the roundabout. Cool little swirly bit down off the Over Bridge (the middle one) too… neeeeeeeooooooowwwwwww actually i didn’t go that fast. Sorry. Still, by the time i was 10, i had already gone for a bike ride and played two hours of World of Warcraft.

The rest of the day was wasted. :)

Man Utd is criticised over £30,000 lottery award to keep club’s staff fit

Can’t the staff just run around with the footballers a bit? I mean, then the grand total cost will be about a tenner or something? Maybe the money could then go to the Samaritans, well apparently not;

Groups such as the Samaritans have been turned down on the grounds that they do not help enough minority groups

In some ways i appreciate their statement that

“We cannot and should not discriminate against a firm based on whether it is perceived to be a wealthy organisation, but should target those who will help make a real difference.”

But they honestly can’t believe such tripe right?

Blair.

without comments

I have quite strong views politcally. Though i will be the first to admit my knowledge regarding it, is far from what it should be. Based almost exclusively by the fact that on the whole, i find politics thoroughly unappealing (watching Labour MPs getting a kicking on Question Time excluded).

It’s on enough political blogs but this is from PMQ’s yesterday>

Elfyn Llwyd (Meirionnydd Nant Conwy, Plaid Cymru)

Will the Prime Minister offer a credible response to the following question? When his fundraiser-in-chief and tennis partner was offered a £1.5 million donation to the Labour party, why did he refuse it in favour of a £1.5 million loan?

Tony Blair

I have no intention of giving a running commentary on this, but I can say that I am delighted that so many successful people support the Labour party—and quite right too.

No intention?

Source

Also of interest today. Renew for freedom, i think i will go with it and renew my passport. 10 years not on a register sounds fine to me. Not having an card but being put on a huge national database was no compromise as far as i’m concerned.

Motivation.

with one comment

What motivates you? Do you need to motivate yourself? When do you feel most motivated? I suppose, i mean in terms of everything, anything? The big, long term ‘this is what i’m going to spend my life doing’ choices to, the smaller though in many respects equally as important ones.

It only comes to mind, because it’s something i’ve always had trouble with (and still do unfortunately) from phone calls to going into shops. First day back at work on Tuesday and i was there and i was thinking, what am i doing and for a couple of hours i was kind of angry, annoyed. What am i doing here, etc. But then, it all blossomed into this intense kind of motivation i get every once in a while. I can’t really explain it and it’s not something i conciously do, it’s just like suddenly i’m aware of where i’m standing and what i want to do and how i’m going to do it. Always seems to come out of a certain amount of despair ironically but i’m not going to argue.

Just a thought i suppose.

Edinburgh photos

without comments

Everyone is going to tag their photos the same, so subscribe to this tags feed and you’ll see all the photos that people put on Flickr (hopefully).

130 shots and counting!
Loz takes a nice shot. I really like this one though especially the use of the paint - bonus points to all. Will try that, mine were bog-standard paint jobs but still.

edit> Even i think i’ve made too many posts on Edinburgh but still, i’ve upped a video. See it here > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gWZ-1t8gWY
