Bits.
- You know that advert where the motorbike isn’t there and then it is, yeah that happened to me tonight. I think the close misses, the really close ones aren’t as affecting as the ones that aren’t so. Funny that. He just went zooooom.
- My cartwheels today were great, some teaching points and i was away - point your toes to the ceiling. Too dark to practice outside unfortunately.
- It was dark when i left Uni today. Rubbish. I don’t mind the cold, i don’t like the dark though - leaving and coming home in it isn’t good at all.
- These pumpkin stencils
- Buying stuff from Amazon Marketplace, the book was 24p the postage £2.74 go figure.
- If you’ve got Google Earth click this link
- Also have you noticed how it suddenly got cold. Did someone flick a switch for the start of November? I can wear scarves now i’m not complaining but it seems to have come out of nowhere.
Positive.
Go here or here (etc.) and try and find a positive story. It’s not what the news is about is it? Is it that the majority of news is simply bad, negative? I refuse to believe that there’s isn’t positive news out there somewhere, that the world is overrun with negative stories. Is it the scale perhaps… bad news (take you’re pick - global warming, Iraq, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe) but is good news just not so possible on such a big scale? A hundred people helping each other, individual small events that are of no interest but one or two people. Maybe they add up, we just don’t notice them?
The song is Embrace’s cover of No More by D12 off the Live Lounge cd (which i’m really liking, such a nice mix of music on there). Though i was thinking about that, didn’t we pay for all the recording, the fees to record it with our license tax fee? So why do we pay? For the licensing of the tracks? For making the cd. It’s good value, well it is on the big A. I was just wondering, we pay for the privaledge of hearing it so we can pay for it, where are the profits going? Back to the Beeb, the artists?!, the record companies? I’m just wondering, i quite happy to stand corrected… anyone know? How does it work when we buy the Office on dvd, since we invested the money really, surely?
And this picture
Land of the Dead.
I’m getting better.
I willing to admit this, i don’t do scary. I remember when i was younger and there was a programme on (during the day no less) about two brothers who were lost in the outback, one had to carry the other and they ended up getting joined together. Anyway i think they ended up walking around forever and scaring people and stuff - the point is, it scared the bejesus out of me. From then on, i don’t do scary. I just get no pleasure from it is probably a more accurate way to describe it. I say scary and i mean the bits when they build up the tension. People getting ripped apart, i’m quite happy to watch. The bit where they are being chased, or the the bit where you just know something is going to happen, those were the ones that got me. Still do. I blame it on having an over active imagination.
Last night i watched Land of the Dead and it was ok, there’s a couple of point when you know someone is going to get attacked and i didn’t like those - but on the whole it was relatively comical. There was a brief moment getting in the car though… it was raining there was no on about, i locked the doors. Though, there was a moment driving home when there were some teenages walking in a t-shirt in the rain at 12am - must be zombies i thought.
The music is (it’s all the Live Lounge covers (and some orignal songs by the artists) i’ve been downloading anyway, so it’s all good.I’m quite taken by Jamelia’s cover of Numb and Outkast performing Miss Jackson) and the tv is Lost (which i wasn’t too sure of with the first 3 episode of season 3 but bloody hell… episode 4 was great!).
Alcohol tax.
Ms Hewitt was responding to disturbing evidence that drinking is blighting young people’s lives and causing them long-term medical damage.
…
She said: “I am asking Gordon Brown, when he comes forward with the budget next year, to really increase taxes on alcohol. And particularly things like alcopops and some of the stuff that quite a lot of teenage boys and girls are drinking, because we’ve got a real problem with binge drinking among young people.
..
I think putting taxes up on alcohol would help discourage young people from spending too much money on alcohol.”
If she thinks that raising tax on alcohol and in particular certain drinks (seriously?!) will cut down on the binge drinking in this country, frankly she’s mental. (Maybe she needs a whipping) It’s not as if an increase in taxes will cause a price rise across the board anyway, where there’s such a disparity with the prices anyway, has she had a drink in Wetherspoons lately? Price is, in my experience, largely irrelevant in terms of binge drinking anyway - cheap bottle of vodka, or wine from the supermarket before you go out? The idea of price should be ignored and the reason why we do it needs to be addressed… That’s what we need to change… It really doesn’t appeal to me, does that stop me? Of course not, it’s what we do isn’t it?
More good ideas from the Government > If you’re unemployed, you’ve got more free time so your community sentence should be longer. link/more (saying everything i would like to more eloquently)
Swingggggggg

Went to the swings today. It’s such a nice view looking over the fields with the church in the background. More shots here. (ok i bloody love these shots now, it’s not often enough we just go wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee). (old link NSFW)
Thing i did differently today : i called people instead of texting (well mostly - old habits), it was nice. (I think it is mostly to do with, just wanting to say something and be done, like - do you still want to meet with so and so and me tomorrow, we can’t do Sat because i’m flying a kite or something. Instead you feel obliged to carry on talking - i’m fully aware that’s no bad thing, it’s just you want to say your piece and be done but it’s nice to talk to someone instead of staring at pixels.)
Anyway, 24 Series 6 extended trailer is out (Sorry Chris and Jenn - just get Sky in the new shack and January will be a whole lot more fun!) - i’m not linking to the official site because it makes everything go slow.
For some reason the song is The Dave Matthews Band - The Space Between.
What is missile lock?
I mean, i’ve seen it in films but what actually is the difference between lock and non-lock? What is different. Does that make sense? I just wondered. Now i know.
Also, Con Air is bad. Some of the lines are awful and that accent. Also if i call someone i love hummingbird, i won’t complain if i get left in the dirt/divorced.
Save the cheerleader.
Okay. So Heroes keeps getting betterer and betterer. Basically “It follows the tale of a group of ordinary people who discover they have special powers; powers that will ultimately change the world”. There’s so much going on on and plenty to keep you interested. It’s not Lost but that’s an infinitely good thing. We’re only up to episode 5. Anyway, it’s great and being paced prety well, you know what’s going to happen but not how.
This video !!! and George saying the Google
Climbed today for the first time in… well it’s been a long time put it that way. It was nice to get back and get something done. Though the thing is, it’s kind of like getting better at rowing - you need to be able to get the blade in and out of the water first before you can get the fitness done. It feels like that a little bit at the moment with regards my climbing, except in this case i need to get my fitness and competency back up before i can start doing the things i want to again. Still, small steps. There’s a couple of routes i want to conquer, though it might be a little way before i get them. The fingers hurt after the first time up, it’s all good though - they are red and somewhat abrased.
I also have a desire to cook. I don’t know why but i do. I want to do something with pumpkins, or maybe those chocolate brownies again (but i’ve lost the recipe, maybe i got it off Chris and Jenn?) or maybe some rice crispy cakes, maybe a carrot cake. Hmm.
Downloaded Firefox 2.0 and i like it a lot, it does all the things Camino doesn’t, it’s just that… Camnio just feels more Mac, yo!
