eBay.
The first rule of ebay is, wait till the end to bid if you can (Auction Sniping)
The second rule of ebay is to never to make your bid a round number (-ish), always go above it ever so slightly. Alex taught me this. Say you’re willing to pay £35 for something… don’t bid that much, bid a little over £36. Even a few pence - see here where Alex won by 2p.
Though i found my original Bloc Party gig ticket and it cost me £3.50, a price considerably less then i just bid on ebay (with 8 seconds to go and £1.50 over a multiple of £5 of course).
Airports, away.
Beeb.
Some things will never change.
I don’t like it. Not one bit. Why can i not just have freeview without the BBC? It’s a stupid system frankly. Though if you don’t have a tv, what are you going to point the furniture at? In my head, my future home is clutter free and doesn’t have a tv.
Also, today i did some skipping and twirling a ribbon around - then i played football, drank beer and got in a fight to reclaim my manliness. I was thinking, how it’s funny how we hate doing some things but how someone else will love those things. I know that we all like different things but perhaps the point it maybe we could too?
Running from the camera
The rules are simple: I put the self-timer on 2 seconds, push the button and try to get as far from the camera as I can.

What a cool idea.
Xmas Baggage.
I seem to have acquired a fair bit over Xmas, a combination of snacking and laziness. So. With that in mind, less crap, more exercise, more water, more breakfast (i’m awful for skipping it). I’ve no fear i won’t be able to do it. I’m just going to make a concious decision to do it and i’ll be ok, i hope.
(Starting tomorrow, drinking tonight)

I don’t want to buy online.
I don’t. I would rather buy from a shop, I would rather have person to go back to. I would rather walk out with it today. With that in mind: I ask why it is so much cheaper online? The hard drive i want is £200 in PC World and £100 on Amazon. I don’t see why it is so much more expensive and i don’t buy the whole overheads, staff rubbish. These big companies aren’t really cutting prices, they don’t try to compete with online because they know they can charge what the hell they like because there’s some mug willing to pay it. Pah. If their prices dropped in line with the internet (and not, we’ll match the price - just drop it) they’re business would go through the roof. Will they? Of course not.
Ho hum.
I will give my new year’s resolutions some serious consideration….
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.
I’ve thrown a couple of links at del.icio.us recently about NYRs (see right). I like this quote nevertheless. Just commit yourself…
Happy New Year (and month, week, day…)

- The song is: Chris Lake -Carry Me Away (Sébasien Léger/Original Remix) from the Sharam essential mix.(MySpace version)
- The tv coverage we get at New Year - i mean i saw it on a small screen across the pub, but it looked rubbish. I don’t get New Year one bit. I watched it and i thought, if i were in a band, i’d be in the kind of band that would either never get invited to some sort of New Year show or would become a band never invited because we’d told the tv company to do one. I’d love to be in band. It’s a shame i can’t sing nor play an instrument. In my head my/our band is awesome.
- Ugly Betty - The way we watch tv is due to change soon, it can’t but. It’s good though.
- Work stress - Lovely.
- Off the back of this entry (How to make and keep New Years Resolutions) - i plan to consider it.
