Fast reds
There are three groupings, green (very fit), red (fit) and blue (not so fit). Except, there are normally only a few people wearing green bibs. That means on Tuesday there are three groups, greens and fast reds, slow reds and blues. Last week I joined the slow reds and today for some reason I joined the fast reds.
In short, while I was doing it. It was really really horrible. He made me run further and faster then I was really comfortable doing and we did more press ups, burpees, dips and tuck jumps then I could do. At the time I was thinking I’m not doing this again.
We started by running at a reasonable pace while stretching arms and legs and then went on to doing lots of burpees, some more running and press ups. Then we did more running, then stopping to do more exercises. Then more running. The thing is that we kept turning back on ourselves, in the end we didn’t go very far. In some respects you’re knackered – but you haven’t gone anywhere. Then we did lots of dips, press ups that I had to all but give up on to be honest. Then more running to the bottom of the bridge.
Where we run up and down 7 or 8 times, the ramp while providing good access for some users is just a long way up. Then we had to pair with someone who was an equal-ish ability to us. Whereby the competitive side kicks in and you push yourself that little bit harder because you don’t want to come second.
We finished with some exercises with a partner that was relatively easy.
I’m going to ache tomorrow but I’m finding it hard to write about it because I feel so good now. I did about 10 minutes after we run up to the top of the bridge and back for the last time – which was hard. Next week, the question is do I push myself or not. Hmmm
