Korean

I went with for lunch at a Korean place today called Seoul Kimchi. Funny because I was admiring Jon’s pictures of the food he had in Korea recently.

We had beef Bulgogi, spicy fish stew, assorted Korean vegetable salad, Jeon and rice.

It was nice to try something completely different. I think I could get used to it. It was just outside of food I’d eat normally, which was, well just strange. I’ve eaten lots of different kinds of food, but Korean was just different to things I’ve had before. We had Morning Rice to drink, a drink made from roasted rice. Which reminded me of something that I just couldn’t put my finger on!

More to follow, late for BMF!

Edit: then we walked into town and had bubble tea from a Chinese bakery and I learnt that Julie was fluent in Cantonese. Made me wish I should finally get around to learning French. It was like iced tea but had these balls in (made from a mixture of tapioca and carrageenan powder) which were ok but I didn’t manage to finish them all. Reminded me of alouda (a Mauritian milky drink with ice cream in the top) a bit, just not really as sweet.
