Weekend
JH said that when she got a Macbook she said she’d step up the blogging. I didn’t think she actually would. Not that blogging is a competition or anything.*
Anyway, she posted about her weekend yesterday and mentioned my post which I wrote early Saturday morning while listening to Angels and Airwaves – Machine.
So Saturday I drove from Worcester down to Chepstow to have lunch at Sarah and Joel’s house (with their 3 children, Inga, Paul, their two, Chris, Rob and Kier) and we all sat around their massive dinner table and had jacket potatoes and it was just perfect. Followed by cake and meringue. It was one of those times when it’s nice to be around family.
Then we went from Chepstow to Usk, where we checked into our Inn and quickly got changed before heading out to Sarah and Steve’s wedding reception. I drew the bum room, literally > http://www.flickr.com/photos/omarc/4067504863/.
Had a quick pint, then had a nice evening at a fancy hotel (lots of recurring memories of working at weddings though) with some lovely food, some dancing and talking to lots of different family. Before walking back to the Inn where we got collared by the landlord for one more drink. Turns out he had ‘acquired’ the pub in a bet and said he didn’t really know what he was doing. Fell asleep to Lollipop and Regulate by Warren G on the karaoke.
Saturday morning we all went round Pauline’s for a continental breakfast with all the family again, which was really good. Everyone sat around chatting about last night and next years wedding and the wedding the year after and when Cathy was organising the family pinic.
Then it took me a little under 4 hours to drive back home in time for X-Factor. Suitably shattered but feeling good.
*I’ve clearly being posting for regularly for longer then her anyway so she has a lot of ground to make up. Also; she smells!

Thats a lot of family for one week end but I am incredibly envious! You are lucky to have a weekend with two Saturdays lol but on reflection that is probably how it felt. I have asked cousin Dave for Cathy’s address so that I can clear up any misunderstanding about her picnic….not sure how though as i don’t understand myself!! I think I will end up organising something so YOU will have to help me!!!
