Funny week. Last week before Xmas usually is. Kids are a bit all over the place, we listened to the year 3/4s sing in French and Santa came and we had our party, we decorated biscuits and made hats, we made a mess, we spent a lot of time tidying, we made the carpet sparkle with glitter, we listened to Katy Perry – Fireworks while we tidied.
I tried, and failed, to not use Twitter and Facebook again. One of those times, when I just wanted to up and leave it. I struggle to to use them moderately. If there was a website called socialnetworkaware.co.uk I’d be logging on and finding ways to manage my intake. I started writing some rules this week, but only got as far as…
1. I will not check Facebook more then twice a day.
Before promptly breaking that rule the same day. It just feels important to me. So I’m working on finding a way around it. On the plus side I’ve blogged a whole lot more then I would usually. Maybe I’ll limit myself during the week and go mad at the weekend – let my hair down.
Funny thing is is that Facebook is down at the moment.
I sent another text, on one hand life’s too short and on the other is this list of rules of engagement. In any case, it felt like it made things clearer, not that I like that much. Am feeling more single then usual at the moment with no clear light at the end of the tunnel. It feels like I have no concrete idea how to make things work. I entertain the thought that they never will and this feels like the path of least resistance.
Still, tired but work is good and the people at school are all great and I really feel like I’m fitting in. Which is why I’m planning to stay there until the end of the school year.
