So I still find it difficult to explain why it is I feel I need to meditate. I feel it because I consider myself to have this tendency to overthink things, to spend, wasted as I see it, time on what ifs and the like. I want to be able to live more mindfully. Dropping Facebook was a step in that direction (still finding my way with Twitter) and while it definitely has its uses, for me it’s this sort of social, emotional sink that I simply don’t like. I want to be able to enjoy each moment and to be aware of it – that’s all. I think meditating helps me to do that. I’ve spent 40 minutes doing it today already and while I am constantly having to pull my thoughts back, it’ll get there.
