I got the confirmation email from BMF today to say that they’ll stop charging me from the 1st of July.
Feel a little like I’m settling into Crossfit a lot more now. The way that you do things more independently instead of all together. For example the way the warm up is on the board and you do it when you’re ready and the same for the workout. Though because today was a weights day that lent itself more to that, whereas some workouts will be done altogether. Though, it’s such a relatively small space that you’re never doing it on your own and there’s always someone there to cheer you or talk to during a rest. It’s also really small numbers wise, especially compared to BMF and everyone knows everyone else and it feels a lot like friends working out together (albeit in a warehouse in a business park) and I quite like that.
Anyway, the weights we did today seems to have lessened the aching I felt from Saturday morning. Today we did
5 rounds of:
7 times through the sequence, without putting the bar down, of;
Power Clean
Front Squat
Push Press
Back Squat
Push Press (from behind the head)
I did 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, 35kg and 40kg.
The last one was tough, mostly the pushing the weight above my head but I’m glad I worked up to that weight.
Though, as I sat on the rower to do the final 500m row one of the guys in the gym sat down next to me and said “I’ll cheer you on if you like.” Nothing to fire the competitive streak then that. I’m glad he was there but it took a good 5 minutes to recover from it.
