So I spent more this week then I’ve ever spent on food. After I had, I had a bit of a stress about it. You know what though, I’ve eaten well, had plenty of leftovers for lunch and it’s all been lovely and delicious. Plenty of meat and veg and fish and frankly it was worth every penny. A roast chicken that was enough for three meals, salmon fillets that just go in the oven (I’m liking garlic and butter at the moment) and a pork shoulder that I’ll marinate overnight, cook slowly and then slowly eat for lunches. The things I can cook are slowly expanding, the herbs and assorted oils growing too. It’s all good.
In the past it has been something I’ve struggled with. Eating for one presents it’s own sorts of problems, buying enough without buying too much, making sure it all gets eaten.
In any case, if the price of eating this well is staying in occasionally or not buying that thing I REALLY REALLY need.
So be it.
