This much I know: Seal
I don’t really see myself as a mixed-race person, I see myself as an Englishman. It’s just such an unnecessary detail, I think.
My children have a little bit of English, a little bit of African, a little bit of German in them. One of the names they call us in Germany, one of the few I’m actually fond of, is “the patchwork family”. I love that. I’m very fond of patchwork quilts, too. I think they’re really cool.

Re the first thing. I absolutely concur with that. Growing up it was never an issue to me. That my mum has a different colour skin to me meant (and will forever mean) nothing. As I sit and think about it, I see myself as British first and foremost.
Re the second thing. I like that line a lot, I sometimes think about what any children I will have will be like and then I stop because it’s not really important.
