The ONLY people we should be accountable to in education is the children and young people. For decades and with consecutive governments we have not provided a holistic education and have been driven with the accountability measures of inspection, national curriculum and testing that has completely distorted what we are offering in the name of education.

Our young people need to be enabled to be creative, to imagine, to be innovative. They need time and opportunity to develop relationships, to learn about empathy. They need to be supported in making informed and appropriate choices in life. We continue to have high rates of teenage conception, aggressive behaviour, obese kids and no job prospects even for those allegedly academically proficient.
