the goal is simply to be better.
Don’t get me wrong. The fact that I look at myself in the mirror and am slim and toned is really awesome. But I really do mean it when I say it’s a pleasant side effect. I love Crossfit because it’s a challenge. Because doing those 20 lunges (or 100 in total) was a very real challenge. Holding the weight above my head, making sure my shoulders were tense so the weight didn’t wobble too much. Trying to do as many as possible before putting the weight down. Staring at the wall. Focusing simply on that one movement. Everything (everything) else fades into the background. All i’m thinking about is lunging forward and back.
